LSU Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020
This November stretch is absolutely ridiculous and it ends with two road games — the first coming on Nov. 21 at Auburn. The Tigers, too, will be playing for a conference title game berth and Bo Nix will be a Heisman candidate, but Ed Orgeron’s team will pull off yet another monster win to really solidify his team as a national title contender.
Everyone assumed LSU would take a huge step back in 2020 because of the key losses on both sides of the ball, but a win on the road against Auburn two weeks after beating Alabama at home will shut that notion down.
Final Score: LSU 27, Auburn 20 (10-1, 6-1)
Sitting at 10-1 with one final game against Texas A&M seems like a major win for Orgeron and the Tigers given all they lost in the offseason. But assuming LSU beats the Aggies just because they defeated Auburn and Alabama would be foolish — heck, this is the SEC.
Texas A&M has been known to test LSU and all you have to do is look at the seven-overtime thriller back in 2018 when the Aggies won 74-72.
This one won’t be quite as high scoring, but the Aggies and Tigers will play a tight one with Kellen Mond getting the big plays down the stretch to go his way, picking up a big win for Jimbo Fisher.
Final Score: LSU 24, Texas A&M 27 (10-2, 6-2)
