Wide Receiver

Starting X receiver: Mark Pope
Backup: Jeremiah Payton

Starting H receiver: Mike Harley
Backup: Keyshawn Smith

Starting Z receiver: Dee Wiggins
Backup: Michael Redding III

While the Hurricanes have some talent on the outside, they are not a very experienced group and I think they could benefit from adding a veteran receiver from the transfer portal.

However, with the group that they currently have, I think that several of these guys could flourish in Rhett Lashlee’s offense.

Mike Harley is a big play waiting to happen and is the lone senior from the group. Mark Pope was highly touted coming out of high school, but has not quite put everything together. However, I think that Pope is inline for a breakout season in 2020. Dee Wiggins can be a big play threat, but has struggled with drops and consistency and that will be a big factor for him heading into the season.

Redshirt freshman Jeremiah Payton is another breakout candidate for this year as well. The quartet of freshman receivers Keyshawn Smith, Miachael Redding III, Dazalin Worsham and Xavier Restrepo should contribute in various ways this season.
