South Carolina is starting the season on a positive note at 1-0. The early part of the schedule is light enough that the Gamecocks should be able to gain momentum for the later part of their schedule. Coastal Carolina is coming off a 5-7 season last fall, but did upset Kansas.

South Carolina will be just a little bit more of a challenge and the Gamecocks are starting the season off on the right foot by going 1-0.

Final Score: South Carolina 45, Coastal Carolina 17 (1-0)

South Carolina will be 2-0 after the first couple of weeks of the season after facing some teams that are coming off some rough seasons. East Carolina is coming off a 4-8 season and are in the second year of the Mike Houston era, who came over from FCS powerhouse James Madison.

The Pirates were close to pulling off some upsets against Cincinnati and SMU last season but they won’t be able to go on the road and take down the Gamecocks just yet.

Final Score: South Carolina 38, East Carolina 14 (2-0)
