Pick Analysis. player. 822. 3. Scouting Report. Sept. 19. Columbia (S.C.). Missouri TIgers

For the SEC opener, the Gamecocks will welcome their SEC East rivals the Missouri Tigers into Columbia. Missouri will be without Kelly Bryant and head coach Eli Drinkwitz will be in his first season with the Tigers after coming over from Appalachian State, where he finished 13-1.

With the game being at home and Missouri missing key pieces from their offense, I think the Gamecocks pull this one out because I’m also not sold on Drinkwitz as a head coach yet.

Final score: South Carolina 28, Missouri 21 (3-0, 1-0 SEC)

Pick Analysis. Sept. 26. player. Scouting Report. Lexington (Ky.). Kentucky WIldcats. 4. 833

This will be a big test for the Gamecocks. Kentucky has become a really solid program under head coach Mark Stoops and this will not be a cakewalk.

Despite losing offensive playmaker Lynn Bowden, Kentucky should be another tough out for any SEC team, especially going into Lexington.

Because of their early couple of games against weaker opponents, South Carolina should be relatively healthy and rolling in their new offense and they’ll go into Lexington and win a really tough, physical game.

Final Score: South Carolina 24, Kentuky 21 (4-0, 2-0)
