Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DE. Iowa. 36. A.J. Epenesa. 27. player

A lack of pass rush was the main downfall for the Seattle Seahawks in the previous season. The Seahawks only accounted for 28 sacks last season, which is tied for 29th most in the league.

They have also lost defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who only accounted for three sacks and seven tackles for loss last season for Seattle. Outside linebacker Bruce Irvin is a huge addition to the Seahawks but he cannot contribute the pass rush alone.

The Seahawks drafting a defensive end in A.J. Epenesa is not only more reliable but cheaper.

Epenesa lives in the opposing backfield consistently as he accumulated 31 tackles for loss and 22 sacks in the previous two seasons.

Seattle will need to help Epenesa create some push and flexible on the very edge to get into the backfield in the NFL. He can play some variations of a three-technique in key pass-rushing situations.
