NFL Draft 2020: Complete first-round mock, post-free agency
For a while, it seemed that the Redskins were all-in on Ohio State defensive end Chase Young. Having Young would give the Redskins a loaded defensive line with five pass rushers or defensive linemen since 2011.
The most significant and recent news is that the Redskins have been publicly preparing for scenarios where they take a quarterback with a high amount of potential in Tua Tagovailoa.
The problem with this pick is that they already have Dwayne Haskins, who was drafted by the Redskins with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. This same scenario didn’t stop the Cardinals from drafting Kyler Murray in the 2019 NFL Draft when they drafted quarterback Josh Rosen in the first round of 2018.
If the Redskins can keep Tagovailoa healthy from long-term injuries, he could create a much bigger impact for the franchise than Haskins could.
