Weaknesses

While Patrick Queen does have the potential to blitz in the interior by attacking gaps, he does so to try and avoid as much contact as possible. His pass-rush skills against the opposing linemen are below average as he does not have the strength to engage against offensive linemen. Whenever he does go for the pass rush, he gets pushed around easily with poor balance.

He is severely undersized to other inside linebacker prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. There is a possibility that he will lose to much bigger tight ends in the league if they collide with each other. He tends to wait on pulling guards to come to him while he is trying to recognize the play. Once he gets engaged with a guard at the second level of the defense, it is hard for him to disengage.

Queen doesn’t offer a lot of power whenever he tries to make the tackle due to the lack of size he possesses. He has the occasional problem with trying to drag down the ball carrier when trying to make the needed tackles.

The lack of experience is also concerning as he has not consistently shown his full potential excluding his great performances late in the season. Teams will have to convinced that the limited film on him near the end of the season will be compelling enough for their defense.
