Ethan Calvert has a strong tie to UCLA and it’s something only one other school high on his list has: a sibling. His brothers player at Washington and UCLA and that could ensure that his final list of schools includes both the Bruins and Huskies. Heck, this may be a two-team race.

The four-star linebacker from Westlake Village, Calif., has to be high on the Bruins list because he could play alongside his brother Bo. He already has a college-ready body at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds and he plays like one of the more aggressive linebackers in the class. He’s been named a Polynesian Bowl All-American and Greg Biggins of 247Sports gives him a lofty comparison to Brian Cushing.

Calvert has nearly two dozen offers and keeping him in the state of California will be a tough battle against programs like Washington, LSU and Utah. The in-state schools making a push along with UCLA are Stanford and USC.

Ranked the No. 92 overall prospect and third-best inside linebacker in the class, per the composite, Calvert is one of the best players from the state of California.

Can UCLA hold off some of the nation’s best programs for his services?
