2. (9) Colorado 39, (3) Texas 37

In a rematch of blowout game from earlier that season, Colorado got the best of Texas and ruined their shot at the national championship.

Texas came into the day ranked No. 3 in the BCS poll and with No. 2 Florida losing that same day to Tennessee, this was Texas’s chance to seal their spot in the national championship. Texas faced Colorado earlier in the season and cruised to a 41-7 victory, so nobody really thought that Colorado could pull the upset.

Colorado had fought back into the top 10 and came into the game ranked ninth in the BCS poll. Texas out-gained Colorado by over 100 yards, but had four turnovers and that sealed the Longhorns fate and cost them a shot at the national championship.

It seemed like the stars could be aligning for Texas that day, but the Longhorns failed to oblige and it gave Nebraska its shot.
