Chase Garbers is one of those guys that all Bears fans have been waiting on for quite some time. He’s head coach Justin Wilcox’s highest-rated recruit since he stepped on campus and one of the most highly-anticipated players.

Garbers is now in his third year as a Bear and all signs point to him having one of the best seasons of his career on top of having one of the best defenses in the Pac-12. All of this combined and you could have a special year in Berkeley.

The third-year quarterback got off to a shockingly great 7-0 start in 2019 but unfortunately got injured in October and then was able to resume playing in November. In his last game of 2019, he was able to throw four touchdowns and make his presence felt against Illinois.

Expect Garbers to have a breakout year and Cal to really have a ton of fun this year in the Pac-12 North. With so many teams in the north going through changes, this could be the perfect year that Wilcox gets the Bears over the hump with Garbers at the helm.
