It is hard to imagine that JT Daniels would not be plug and play if he left the west coast and bolted to Knoxville. The quarterback room for the Volunteers is not at all settled. Incumbent quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has proven he is not the answer at quarterback while freshman Brian Mauer flashed at times.

If the Volunteers want to up the ante next season in the SEC East, they have to be better at quarterback. They have pieces on the offense. Their three-headed hydra at running back all return. Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan and Eric Gray all return. They combined for 1,622 yards and eight touchdowns.

They do lose three of their top receivers from last season, but they still have talent inexperienced as it is. There is the Tee Martin factor as well. He was co-coordinator Daniels’ first season at USC and they had a good relationship.

One might notice the absence of LSU on this list. They peeked in the portal, but reports from Baton Rouge have the Tigers all in on Myles Brennan.
