WR. No. 45. player. . . 2. 48. KJ Hamler

This is a loaded draft for wide receiver and KJ Hamler will be one of the top ones off the board. With their second round pick, the Buccaneers will select Hamler.

Taking a redshirt his freshman year and declaring early for the draft, Hamler only had two seasons in the blue and white. He certainly made the best of them with his lightning fast speed. With his speed and shifty moves, Hamler earned the nickname of “The Human Joystick”. He finished his college career with 98 receptions, 1658 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Unfortunate luck has affected Hamler lately. A hamstring injury limited him at this year’s NFL Combine where he could not show off his speed in the 40-yard dash. Then of course there was no Penn State pro day due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Scouts will have to rely on his film, but Hamler provided plenty of highlight reel plays the last two seasons.

The Bucs lost receiver Breshad Perriman to free agency and would like to add some depth behind all pro Mike Evans and former Nittany Lion Chris Godwin. Hamler will fill in the slot role nicely in Tampa. What better way could there be to start a pro career catching balls from future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady.

Projection: Second round (No. 45 overall to Buccaneers)
