Cam Brown. 31. . . LB. No. 150. 5. player

Believe it or not, “Linebacker U” has not had a linebacker drafted since the 2013 season, when both Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti were selected by Minnesota. It will change this year when Cam Brown hears his name called.

Brown was a starter for every game but one the last two seasons for the Nittany Lions. He compiled 198 tackles, 14.5 for loss, 4.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in his four year career.

The athletic linebacker had a solid showing at the NFL Combine in February. He finished in the top 10 of all linebackers for both the vertical leap and broad jump. Brown also recorded a 4.72 second 40-yard dash time. At 6-foot-5 and 233 pounds, Brown has the versatility to play in an array of defensive schemes at the next level.

Being drafted by the New York Giants will reunite Brown with former teammates Saquon Barkley and Brown. Plus the Giants hired defensive line coach Sean Spencer from the Nittany Lions this off season. With the addition of Brown, New York will build upon their already solid Penn State connections.

Projection: Fifth round (No. 150 overall to Giants)
