No. 225. John Reid. 7. 26. . . CB. player

John Reid was a forgotten player by NFL experts mostly due to having missed the entire 2017 season due to a torn ACL and then spent the better part of the 2018 season trying to get back to 100 percent.

His final season in Happy Valley plus his showing at the NFL Combine should help his draft prospects. Last season, Reid recorded 37 tackles and one sack. He also led the team in pass breakups with eight and had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

At the combine in February, he recorded the fastest shuttle time of all players with a time of 3.97 seconds.

Due to his injury, Reid spent five years at Penn State and is a real student of the game. He could always be found in the film room, something NFL teams will love. He may be undersized at five-foot-ten, but he compensates with his on the field knowledge and technique. The Ravens are in need of some secondary depth so Reid should find himself a home late on Day 3 of the draft.

Projection: Seventh round (No. 225 overall to Ravens)

Honorable mentions: OG Steven Gonzalez, P Blake Gillikin, LB Jan Johnson, S Garrett Taylor, TE Nick Bowers and WR Dan Chisena are also eligible for this year’s NFL Draft. Gonzalez has potential to land in the seventh round, but is most likely an undrafted free agent. Gillikin will most certainly get NFL tryouts with a tremendous four year starting career at Penn State. Johnson, Taylor, Bowers, and Chisnea should at least get looks at spots for NFL training camps.
