WR. Clemson. Tee Higgins. 2. 46. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player

We know this is one of the deeper wide receiver drafts in recent history. At some point in the first round, we are going to see a run on wide receivers in the first round. The question is when that run happens will Tee Higgins be part of that run.

Flip a coin between Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Oklahoma’ CeeDee Lamb on which receiver gets drafted first. Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III will most likely be the third receiver off the board. There is a three-way battle between Brandon Aiyuk, Justin Jefferson and Tee Higgins as to who goes next.

There is a lot to like about Higgins. He has ideal size and a large catch radius at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds. He has good hands and is a decent route runner. However, Higgins did not test well at Clemson’s pro day — one of the few teams that had one — running a 4.54 40-yard dash and a 31-inch vertical leap.

The big difference between Higgins and say Aiyuk is, Higgins was productive with a stud receiver across from him in Justin Jefferson. Aiyuk, on the other hand, was productive without that caliber help across from him.

Expect Higgins to slide a bit due to a mediocre pro day and team need. The Colts, looking for a big receiver to help newly acquired quarterback Phillip Rivers with the second pick in the second round.

Projection: Second round, No. 34 (Colts)
