5. player. 47. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. J.R. Reed. S. Georgia

The New England Patriots are going to look a lot different next fall and with the departure of Tom Brady (AKA the GOAT), could find themselves in an unfamiliar territory: rebuilding mode.

Over the years, the Patriots have been known to take late draft picks and turn them into a valuable piece towards winning a Super Bowl. And with this late draft pick in 2020, things should be no different.

J.R. Reed started every game at Georgia in his three years there after transferring there in 2016 from Tulsa. He has quite the list of accolades and could be one of this year’s draft’s biggest sleepers. He has the ability to lend support to the run defense and cover tight ends in the middle of the field. Reed could go as early as third but the Patriot way could be a great start to his career.

Projection: Fifth round, No. 172 (Patriots)
