NFL Draft 2020: 5 biggest snubs from the first round
There were six wide receivers taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The electrifying Tee Higgins was not among the receivers due to specific team needs. There was certainly some real potential that would be another team trading into the late first round to select Higgins.
His size, his reliability to catch deep and short passes, and great breakout speed make him a tough receiver to stop in an NFL-type offense. To go along with his size, he has great arm length and great which adds to his enormous catch radius. He was regarded as the sixth-best wide receiver and 30th overall prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft by ESPN with a grade of 88 overall.
Higgins has been continuing a line of consistent reliable Clemson Tigers receivers to go to the NFL Draft. In each of the two-seasons, Higgins has accounted for at least 12 receiving touchdowns. In his junior season in 2019, Higgins caught 59 passes for 1,167 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He will need to work on his ability to catch the ball in tightly contested situations. Higgins could come off the board as early as the 33rd overall pick to the Cincinnati Bengals, 34th overall pick to the Indianapolis Colts or 35th overall to the Detroit Lions.
