3. Mike Yurcich, Texas (DC)

New Texas offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is already proving he is quite the hot commodity. Longhorns head coach Tom Herman wanted to shake up his staff after a disappointing 8-5 season. Part of that shakeup was letting go of Tim Beck and hiring Yurcich.

In order to get Yurcich out of Columbus and to Austin, the Longhorns brass doubled his salary. They certainly believe the Buckeyes former passing game coordinator is worth the investment. The Buckeyes passing game had a 16-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Keep in mind starting quarterback Justin Fields threw one interception in the regular season. Had he had two good legs in the playoff he does not throw two pics against Clemson. The Buckeyes passing game completed nearly 70 percent of their passes as well.

Before taking over as the Buckeyes passing game coordinator, he ran Mike Gundy’s offense in Stillwater from 2013-18. During his six years at Oklahoma State, the Cowboys had one of the most explosive offenses in the country.

At Oklahoma State, he coached Mason Rudolph who became one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the University. If Sam Ehlinger has a big year, Yurcich will get several phone calls.
