Sam Jones was the leading receiver for the Mountaineers last season as a redshirt freshman and he has the potential to be even better this season.

After redshirting his freshman season in 2018, James looked to become a reliable target for whoever would be under center and that is exactly what happened for him. James finished last season with 69 catches for 677 yards and two touchdowns, despite some unreliable quarterback play at times.

If James can become more productive and be more of a big-play threat and improve upon his 9.8 yards per reception average and two touchdowns, he could become an all Big 12 receiver and shoot up draft boards. He is more potential than product at the moment but the talent is there.
