It is finally time for Buck linebacker Big Kat Bryant to come into the starting role for the Auburn Tigers after spending the past two seasons as a backup. He has been an impactful player since his freshman season in 2017 but is now seeing the opportunity to start. This comes as a great time for Bryant to get some NFL evaluation as he will be one of the main leaders on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Bryant is a highly athletic outside edge rusher at 6-5, 247 pounds. He is well-balanced with the ability to stop the run at the line of scrimmage and chase the quarterback. There are cases in the past few years that show he could be more in-game shape but that will come with experience.

The biggest attribute he will need to work in his senior year is using his speed and strength when attempting to pass rush or contain the edge.

In his sophomore season, Bryant accounted for 18 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, an interception returned for a touchdown and three pass deflections. He played big in huge games for the Tigers. In the opener against Washington, Bryant accounted for two total tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack. He also returned an interception for a touchdown against Purdue in the 2018 Music City Bowl.

This past season, Bryant accounted for 16 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. In the season-opening win against Oregon, Bryant accounted for three total tackles, one solo tackle, half a tackle for loss, half a sack and a fumble recovery for an 83-yard return.

Right now, Bryant is projected to be selected around the middle of the draft to the back end. He can use this 2020 college season and elevate himself as a top-tier versatile pass rusher and become a potential second-round selection.
