I’m taking a bit of a leap of faith here, but I think that David Bailey is a really intriguing NFL running back prospect, despite 2020 being his first full season as a starter.

The Eagles have had the luxury of having one of college football’s best running backs in AJ Dillon for the past three seasons, but Bailey is out to prove that he is more than a worthy successor to the All-ACC back.

Bailey did have an opportunity last season as Dillon’s backup and shined in those opportunities, finishing the 2019 season with 148 carries for 844 yards and seven touchdowns, while averaging 5.7 yards per carry.

Moreover, he has a similar build to Dillon at 6-foot-1 and 240 pounds and is a powerful runner.

With a good season, Bailey may declare early and take advantage of the lack of a workload that he has had at Boston College and prolong his NFL career. He has All-ACC type potential so keep him on a shortlist of names to watch this upcoming season.
