A one-time Louisville commit, Latarie Kinsler was an early-enroll at Syracuse and was set to participate in spring ball before the pandemic altered the schedule.

Kinsler is listed on the roster as a defensive lineman, but at 215 pounds, he may be forced to shift to outside linebacker. Either way, Kinsler is at an advantage over the rest of the singing class as an early enrollee.

Both Kendall Coleman and Alton Robinson have moved on to the NFL, leaving holes at both defensive end positions. Kinsler was vocal about wanting early playing time during his recruitment and supposedly was promised that opportunity at Syracuse. Still, the path to playing time is not the easiest despite the recent graduations.

Kinsler will have to compete with the likes of Kingsley Jonathan and Josh Black, who were both significant contributors last season.

As an early enrollee, Kinsler would have an inside track on playing time, but with the pandemic, the playing field has seemed to been leveled.
