Scouting Report. ILB. 829. Pick Analysis. Senior. Dylan Moses. 5. player

The Crimson Tide have benefitted from many talented and elite middle linebackers since Nick Saban arrived in 2017. While playing in a limited backup role, Dylan Moses played in eight games by accounting for 30 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sack and an interception.

In his sophomore season in 2018, Moses accounted for 86 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He was voted as a second-team All-SEC and second-team All-American.

His career took a serious hit when he suffered a significant knee injury just before his junior season this past season. This made the Crimson Tide’s highly efficient defense destabilize. Moses was the on-field general that communicated play adjustments by the opposing offense.

When healthy, he is an all-around talented linebacker who can run from sideline-to-sideline and tackle in the open field. He is one of the most reliable tacklers in the sport of college football. He can play better in defending the passing game through man coverage and zone coverage.

Expect the Crimson Tide to have one of the most talented and experienced defenses in the nation to due to loaded linebacker corps.

There was potential for Moses to become a first-round draft pick late in the 2020 NFL Draft process but he decided to come back for his senior season. USA Today has Moses ranked 10th overall of the 2021 NFL Draft class while Athlon Sports ranks him as the 16th overall ranked prospect.
