If you are looking for a Heisman candidate to come out of nowhere this season, look toward West Lafayette, Indiana. Rondale Moore is looking to show everyone he’s all the way back from the injury that put him on the shelf last season.

What makes him so dangerous this year is what the Boilermakers have done in recruiting. Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm has done an outstanding job of adding to Purdue’s offense. This season, it won’t be Moore or bust offensively.

In addition to the signees coming to Purdue, sophomore wide receiver David Bell had an outstanding freshman season with over 1,000 yards receiving. Though they lose Brycen Hopkins to the NFL, they signed hybrid receiver/tight end freak athlete Maliq Carr from Michigan.

To shore up the run game, they signed the No. 1 running back out of the state of New York, Tirek Murphy. With all of those pieces, Moore — who was a Consensus All-American in 2018 — can roam all over the field.

The New Albany, Ind., native is dangerous in the return game as well. He might see his touches go down, but it is going to be so difficult for defenses to key in on him because of the weapons all over the offense. That means big plays; lots of them.
