Pick Analysis. Atlanta (Ga.). 1. 880. Scouting Report. Sept. 3. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. player

For the second straight season, Clemson will play Georgia Tech on the opening Thursday night of the college football season. The Tigers rolled to a 52-14 win last season and have not lost to Georgia Tech since 2014. Clemson has won every game against the Yellow Jackets since then by double-digits.

Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins has injected some enthusiasm into the program and it is on the upswing. The Yellow Jackets return a lot of production on both sides of the ball, but just don’t have the talent to compete in a game like this against an opponent like Clemson.

Collins will have the Yellow Jackets ready for a game like this someday. Just not 2020.

Final Score: Clemson 48, Georgia Tech 13 (1-0, 1-0 ACC)

Clemson (S.C.). Louisville Cardinals. Sept. 12. player. 849. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 2

It is rare for a team to start off a season with two conference opponents, but Clemson is doing exactly that in 2020.

Louisville was one of the most surprising teams in the country last season, going 8-5 after a 3-9 season in 2018 that ended up costing Bobby Petrino his job. Scott Satterfield came in and transformed the team and is thought to be Clemson’s biggest challenge in the Atlantic division in 2020.

Clemson won last year’s game handily 45-10 and Louisville has not beaten Clemson since joining the ACC in 2014. Ouch.

Louisville is another that is returning a lot of production from last years team including quarterback Micale Cunningham and wide receivers Tutu Atwell, who is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the entire country. Satterfield is building a winner at Louisville, but like I said about Georgia Tech, the Cardinals will be ready to challenge Clemson sometime in the future but not in 2020.

Final Score: Clemson 38, Louisville 21 (2-0, 2-0)
