While being apart of one of the most loaded receiving corps in recent memory, DeVonta Smith can sometimes be the forgotten man on the roster because he’s not the route-running technician that Jerry Jeudy was nor does he have the blazing speed that Henry Ruggs or Jaylen Waddle have. But Devonta Smith is one of the most talented receivers in all of college football and with Ruggs and Jeudy both gone to the NFL, he could be in for a very productive season.

Smith will always be known for coming onto the scene for catching the game-winning touchdown against Georgia in the national championship, but last season was when he showed how elite he could be.

Against Ole Miss, Smith recorded 11 receptions for 274 yards and five touchdowns. He finished the season with 68 catches for 1,256 yards and 14 touchdowns a season ago and he did not get the amount of touches to put up quality numbers every game, but expect that to change with some of Alabama’s other receivers moving on to the NFL.

Alabama’s offense is going to be terrifying this season and Smith will be a big reason for that. If he could put up some huge numbers and Alabama remains in playoff contention, Smith could be a Heisman contender.
