Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Norman (Okla.). Oklahoma Sooners. player. 815. Oct. 24. 7

In what should be the game of the year in the conference and what I think will be a preview of the Big 12 title game, two of the best offenses in the country will square off in the rivalry simply known as Bedlam.

This will be the defining moment of the season for the Cowboys, as nobody may take them seriously until head coach Mike Gundy shows that he can beat the Sooners, something that he has had trouble doing over the years. He has only two wins over the Sooners in his tenure at Oklahoma State and that has been a sticking point whenever anyone picks the Cowboys to win the Big 12.

Oklahoma will have a new starter in redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler and he has all the talent in the world to continue the Sooners’ insane streak of good quarterback play. Oklahoma will need to find a way to replace Ceedee Lamb, who was a first round pick in this past year’s NFL Draft, but that is a position that the Sooners have recruited well over the years and have a wealth of talent at the position.

This game will come down to which defense can get the most stops or turnovers and with the game being in Norman, I expect the Sooners to win a high scoring shootout this game, but expect a rematch in December in the conference championship game.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 45, Oklahoma 49 (6-1, 3-1)

Pick Analysis. 874. Scouting Report. Oct. 31. Stillwater (Okla.). Texas Tech Red Raiders. 8. player

Texas Tech is seen by some to be a darkhorse contender in the Big 12 this season and it’s not hard to see why and they are starting to get attention as team that could be dangerous in 2020. The Red Raiders had the 11th-ranked offense last season and that was while playing with a backup quarterback. Now Alan Bowman is healthy and ready to lead the offense which is returning eight starters.

Texas Tech will need to improve on the defensive side of the football, however, as they were one of the worst in the country, ranking 127th in total defense.

The Red Raiders have won the last two over the Cowboys, but before that, they had lost nine straight in the series. They have the offense to be able to keep up in the high powered Big 12, but the defense is going to have to take some pretty big steps forward if they want to contend.

Tech will be a bowl team this year, but the Cowboys win comfortably here at home.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 55, Texas Tech 38 (7-1, 4-1)
