11. player. 823. Nov. 21. Kansas State Wildcats. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Manhattan (Kan.)

Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman had a much better than expected record in his first season than many anticipated. After coming over from FCS powerhouse North Dakota State, Klieman posted an 8-5 record with the Wildcats and bounced around the top 25. His most impressive accomplishment however was beating Oklahoma and they were the only Big 12 team to do so last season.

While quarterback Skylar Thompson is back for his senior season, his entire offensive line, top receiver and top two running backs are all gone. The defense should be solid yet again, especially on the defensive line.

The Cowboys won last year’s matchup, but this has been a traditionally tight series. All of the new faces on the Kansas State offense should be playing well with the experience that they have gained up to this point and they will be a tough team defensively and Manhattan is a tough place to play.

Expect a close game, but the Cowboys pull it out.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 31, Kansas State 24 (10-1, 7-1)

Nov. 28. Stillwater (Okla.). Scouting Report. Texas Longhorns. 12. player. 851. Pick Analysis

In a game that could have Big 12 title game implications, there will be a lot of pressure on both teams heading into this one.

It’s a punchline among most college football to hear the phrase “Texas is back” but it could have some merit this season. Sam Ehlinger is back and could be a Heisman contender and the defense will have a new coordinator in former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash.

Pressure is starting to mount on Longhorns head coach Tom Herman after he cleared his whole coaching staff this past offseason and it is starting to feel like if not now, then when for Texas?

Texas has a talented roster thanks to some superb recruiting by Herman and they return seven starters on both sides of the ball. The Longhorns won last years game in Austin, but have struggled against Mike Gundy and the Cowboys this decade.

The loser of this game will be faced with the disappointment of going to another second-tier bowl and missing out on the Big 12 title game once again. A great game will end with Oklahoma State heading to their first ever Big 12 Championship.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 38, Texas 34 (11-1, 8-1)
