It might be a surprise not to see Kyle Trask here. Kadarius Toney has an opportunity to put up some ridiculous numbers this season, however. Head coach Dan Mullen loves “Swiss army knife” type players. The Mobile, Ala., native is that type of player.

It’s difficult — if not impossible — for a wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy. The most recent winner, Desmond Howard, is 50 years old. That should let you know how hard it is for wide receivers to win. When Howard won in 1991, he scored touchdowns in four different ways.

Kadarius Toney can do the same thing. He can line up at receiver, next to Trask as a running back, and return kicks and punts. Toney is electric with the ball in his hands. If the Gators level up, there will be a lot of highlights where defenders are chasing No. 1 as he runs to the endzone.

A Heisman win for a player like Toney comes down to how many times he’s touched the football. More touches mean more opportunities to make big plays and numbers. With the Gators losing three of their four leading receivers from last season, expect Toney to be the focal point of the offense.

If he can make good and stay healthy, he’s in line for a huge season in Gainsville.
