Though most of the players on this list are quarterbacks, there are some skill position players on this list. Rakeem Boyd makes the most sense as the Razorbacks’ Heisman Trophy candidate because he was the best player on the team last season and he’ll be the best player on the team this season.

In order for Boyd to be a candidate for the Heisman, he’d have to carry a marginally talented skill group while propelling the Razorbacks to what can only be described as a sign of the Apocalypse — a run that includes finishing first in the SEC West.

If that run were to happen, he’d then have to overcome a second hurdle, outshining the quarterback. Feleipe Franks would need an unbelievable season in order for the Razorbacks to pull off the incredible feat. If Arkansas had this magical type of run, it is hard not to see the quarterback getting all of the love over the runner.

The only way Boyd would overshadow Franks is if Arkansas used him all over the field. He’d have to get at least 35 touches per game. He’d have t lead  Arkansas in rushing, be second or third in receiving, and return both kicks and punts to have a shot.
