Florida State football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020 season
Louisville is thought to be one of the main challengers to Clemson in 2020. While that might be a bit of a stretch, these two teams will both be fighting for second place in the Atlantic division.
Florida State is 4-2 against the Cardinals ever since their move into the ACC in 2014, including a surprising 2-0 mark under failed coach Willie Taggart. Scott Satterfield worked wonders in turning around Louisville last season after a 3-9 mark in 2018, they won eight games in 2019, including their bowl game against Mississippi State.
With several starters back on offense, including quarterback Micale Cunningham and wide out Tutu Atwell, the Cardinals will be shooting for double-digit wins this season.
These two teams have traded games in recent years and this should be a fairly entertaining game with some explosive players. I’m a big believer in the Cardinals this season and with the game being in Louisville, the Cardinals get a big win here.
Final Score: Florida State 35, Louisville 38 (4-3, 2-2)
These two teams have only met once since the Panthers have joined the ACC, their last meeting coming in 2013 during the Seminoles dominant run to the national championship. That game was on Labor day night and the Panthers hope that they have better luck than that night which ended in a 41-13 beatdown at the hand of the Seminoles.
Pitt is hoping that they will be good enough to contend in the ACC Coastal and with 17 starters returning and Kenny Pickett being a senior, Pitt should field a very solid team in 2020.
This is a very long road trip for the Panthers and one they have not made since 1982. Expect a close game but the Seminoles have the edge in Tallahassee.
Final Score: Florida State 31, Pittsburgh 21 (5-3, 3-2)
