North Carolina will have its home opener against FCS powerhouse James Madison. Aside from North Dakota State, one could argue that the Dukes have the most consistent program at that level and they are not to be taken lightly.

The Tar Heels will be coming off two huge wins so I could see them sleep-walking for a quarter, but eventually winning comfortably.

Final Score: North Carolina 34, James Madison 10 (3-0)

Chapel Hill (N.C.). 4. 880. Sept. 26. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The ACC opener will come at home against the rebuilding Georgia Tech team that is looking to improve on its 3-9 season under second-year head coach Geoff Collins.

The Yellow Jackets are returning a lot of their production from last year’s team and they played a lot of freshman. This game will cap off a tough September for both teams, as Georgia Tech will have also played UCF as well as Clemson in the first few weeks of the season.

The Yellow Jackets should be much improved, but their record may not reflect it. They have one of the toughest schedules in the country and it will be interesting to see how their offense improves after being one of the worst in the country last season, but that was to be expected after transitioning from the triple option.

Collins has this program going in the right direction, but they won’t be ready for the Tar Heels just yet.

Final Score: North Carolina 42, Georgia Tech 17 (4-0, 1-0 ACC)
