The Tigers will start their national championship defense at home against UTSA and will be looking to extend their winning streak to 17 games.

This will be something to watch as it will be the first start for quarterback Myles Brennan and new passing game coordinator Scott Linehan.

The Roadrunners are looking to compete for a C-USA title, but they are going to be overmatched, much like Georgia Southern was in the opener against the LSU last year. The Tigers should win rather easily and get 2020 started on the right foot.

Final Score: LSU 45, UTSA 13 (1-0)

This will be the game that will give an inclination on how LSU’s season could go.

Texas is returning 16 starters and there is a sense that Longhorns head coach Tom Herman is backed into a corner and needs a big season if he wants to keep his job, especially after a coaching staff shakeup that saw Ohio State and Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurich coming in too call plays for the Longhorns and former Rutgers head coach and Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash come in to fix the defense.

Texas is returning Sam Ehlinger and brings back a lot of experience on both sides of the ball. Herman has been recruiting well and some of those players are ready to contribute in a big way this fall. The Longhorns will need to replace wide outs Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson and get better play from the offensive line, which allowed 36 sacks last season.

I think this is a case of catching LSU at the right right time with so much inexperience and the Longhorns need this win badly so the Tigers will get all Texas has. Even in Death Valley, the Tigers lose to the Longhorns.

Final Score: LSU 31, Texas 35 (1-1)
