Despite new QB, expect offense to keep humming in 2020

The Broncos have been a very good and balanced offense in recent years and that trend should continue in 2020, despite some losses at the quarterback position and LeVante Bellamy going to the NFL.

Kaleb Eleby is the favorite to take over the quarterback position due to his experience of starting five games in 2018. He redshirted last season, but put forth some terrific performances that showed his potential.

Despite losing Bellamy to the NFL, there are capable replacements waiting in the wings. La’Darius Jefferson is a transfer from Michigan State and he is a bigger back at 6-foot-1 and 223 pounds and should be able to carry the load this season. Sean Tyler is also back after averaging 5.7 yards per carry in 2019.

Another name to keep an eye will be Nevada transfer Jaxson Kincaide.

The receivers are a talented group and are led by Skyy Moore who was very good as a freshman, earning his way to 51 catches for 802 yards and three touchdowns. He will help ease the transition to a new quarterbacks and he will be joined DaShon Bussell and Cory Crooms, who are both experienced as well. Having a talented and deep receiving corps will help this offense keep humming.

The biggest reason to be optimistic about this offense is the offensive line. Every starter on the offensive line is going to be a senior and they are returning three starters on there as well.

There is enough experience, even at the quarterback position, to be successful on offense in 2020.
