Army Football: Will Black Knights return to winning ways in 2020?

New quarterbacks looks to change fortunes for Army
The offense regressed last season under quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jr. His rushing and passing numbers declined from his 2018 season. This season, junior quarterback Jabari Laws takes the helm of the Black Knight offense.
Laws will run the fullback belly and the power option with a new fullback. Connor Slomka has graduated and the athletic Sandon McCoy will line up behind the junior quarterback. The flex-bone formation will have two new running backs as well.
With McCoy likely moving to fullback and Kell Walker graduating, Dominic Distefano and Artice Hobbs IV will take over the two pitch positions in the triple-option offense.
Laws showed an ability to throw the football last season, completing 80 percent of his passes.
Last season’s leading receivers, Hobbs and Camden Harrison, return this season to add a dimension to the Black Knights’ offense. They won’t throw it the way Navy did last season, but they’ll put it up 6-8 times per game.
The strength of the offense this season is their offensive line. It’s a line that features three seniors and two juniors. Even with some shuffling in the backfield, the line should open some holes for their new quarterback and new runners.
If the option game can come together, they should be pretty good offensively.
