2. Justin Fields, Ohio State

You’re probably tired of hearing about Justin Fields by now, but it’s only natural for the best returning quarterback in college football to be overhyped this much.

Fields has proven that he’s a top quarterback at the high school level and in college twice. Last year, Fields threw for over 3,000 yards, 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions. In most years, that’s good enough to win the Heisman, but he had stiff competition in Joe Burrow.

Fields took control of the Ohio State offense without any transition period after transferring from Georgia. If he had this type of season without any time to get comfortable with the offense, it’s time for Big Ten teams to start getting scared. His calm presence in the pocket and ability to make great throws standing still, on the run and off-balance will be something to marvel next season.

Fields might not put up the same numbers as last season if a shortened season is played, but his efficiency should be unmatched.

This Buckeye could be the next in a great line of OSU quarterbacks and barring any disaster, he’ll likely be a top-level prospect heading into the 2021 NFL Draft.
