SEC Football: Top 50 players entering the 2020 season

We start the countdown by giving some love to the SEC’s best kicker in Tennessee‘s Brent Cimaglia. He earned All-SEC second team honors last season after drilling 23-of-27 of his field goal attempts, including a 51-yarder and a 53-yarder.

Cimaglia was also perfect on extra point attempts and was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award given to the nation’s best kicker. He was named to the preseason All-SEC first team by Athlon Sports.

Kentucky’s A.J. Rose is perhaps the SEC’s most underrated running back. Last season, Rose finished 11th in the conference with 826 rushing yards while adding six scores and 11 catches for 66 yards.

This came a year after he ran for 442 yards and five touchdowns with 82 receiving yards and a score in 2018 despite being behind program all-time leading rusher Benny Snell on the depth chart. He enters his senior year of 2020 on the preseason All-SEC fourth team per Athlon Sports.

Not only is Kentucky’s Max Duffy the best punter in the SEC, but he’s’ the best the nation has to offer.

The former pro rugby star won the Ray Guy Award given to the nation’s best punter in 2019 after averaging 48.1 yards per punt, recording two tackles and even running for 26 yards on a punt fake.

Duffy enters 2020 a preseason first-team All-American by nearly every major publication.

Missouri‘s Larry Rountree III put together a third straight season of great production in 2019 as he ran for 829 yards, which ranked 10th in the SEC and nine touchdowns.

In his first three college seasons, Rountree has rushed for 2,748 yards and 26 touchdowns. He currently ranks sixth in Missouri’s program history in rushing yards and eighth in rushing touchdowns. He enters 2020 an Athlon Sports preseason third-team All-SEC honoree.

839. . . . Henry To'o-To'o, LB. 46. player

Tennessee linebacker Henry To’o-To’o had an outstanding freshman campaign in 2019. He totaled 72 tackles, made five tackles for a loss, defended two passes and recovered a fumble.

He was named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman Team by the league’s coaches and earned Freshman All-American honors from 247Sports and The Athletic.

To’o-To’o enters his sophomore season on the Athlon Sports’ All-SEC second-team defense.
