Texas football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020 season
The Jayhawks have long been at the bottom of the Big 12 and it will be tough to climb out of it in 2020. Kansas will be in its second season under Les Miles and will be hoping that they can improve on their 3-9 record from a year ago and gain some more victories in the conference after only registering one last season.
The team brings back 13 starters, including star running back Pooka Williams and Les Miles is one of the most well respected coaches in the game and could have Kansas ready to try and push for four or five wins.
Kansas is still the worst team in the Big 12 by a decent margin however and I don’t think they will be able to compete with Texas, even though they typically give the Longhorns a good game.
Final Score: Texas 38, Kansas 10 (8-1, 5-1)
Texas will have a tough three game stretch to end the season and it starts with a home game against TCU. The Horned Frogs will once again have one of the best defenses in the conference and that will be spearheaded by a great secondary, that will have to reload a bit after losing star cornerback Jeff Gladney to the NFL.
What has kept TCU from competing for the Big 12 title game has been some iffy quarterback play since Trevone Boykin was under center in 2014 and 2015.
This will be a critical stretch for Texas if they hope to make it back to the Big 12 title game and the game versus the Horned Frogs will be a must win if they hope to do that. Texas’ defense should be playing well by this point in the season and the Longhorns will get a big win here.
Final Score: Texas 31, TCU 27 (9-1, 6-1)
