3. There’s a lot of belief in Slovis

Kedon Slovis played at Desert Mountain High School in Arizona before coming to USC. He was coached by Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner who was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Slovis and has given out plenty of high praise for the USC star.

During Slovis’ recruitment, Warner told azcentral, “He’s got all the skills. If you’re looking for a drop-back quarterback, I’ll put him up against anybody in the state in regards to understanding the game, throwing on time and being able to make every throw on the football field. It’s exciting to see him getting some of the fruits of his labor, because he’s put in the time.”

This was high praise from a former Super Bowl-winning quarterback for a guy who, prior to the Trojan offer, only had two other Power Five scholarships.

Earlier this spring, Matt Leinart was on USC Football’s new podcast Lunch With a Trojan. He spoke about all the great things Warner had told him about Kedon, saying he was “wise beyond his years, can sling the rock and has that it factor.”

Leinart also went on to say that after JT Daniels went down he could tell “the moment wasn’t too big” for Slovis.
