Sept. 26. Stanford Cardinal. 1. player. 871. Pick Analysis. Seattle (Wash.). Scouting Report

The first game of the year for the Huskies will be between one of their main division rivals, the Cardinal. Stanford is coming off of a very disappointing 4-8 campaign that saw their normally-feared running game and defense plummet to one of the worst in the conference.

The bright spot for the Cardinal might be that former blue-chip recruit Davis Mills looked the part late last season at quarterback and former All-American left tackle Walker Little is returning after suffering a season-ending injury early in 2019.

I think that it’s fair to expect Stanford to bounce back this season, as David Shaw is too good of a coach to have another season like last year. However, there are too many question marks in the run game and in the front seven to be able to make a confident pick in Stanford, especially with the game in Seattle.

Final Score: Washington 24, Stanford 21 (1-0)

835. Scouting Report. Seattle (Wash.). Arizona Wildcats. 2. player. Pick Analysis. Oct. 3

The next game up for the Huskies will be against what I think could be the conference’s worst team. When Arizona hired Kevin Sumlin after his oust from Texas A&M, it was thought that he would pair up with dynamic quarterback Khalil Tate and be a contender in the Pac-12. The Wildcats have missed a bowl game in each of Sumlin’s first two seasons and Tate could never stay healthy and is now in the NFL.

Sumlin is under a lot of pressure this season and there are a lot of question marks on this team, especially on the defensive side.

This kind of game will help whoever is under center for the Huskies, as the Wildcats have what might be the worst defense in the conference. I think Washington’s defense suffocates Arizona’s offense and moves to 2-0.

Final Score: Washington 35, Arizona 17 (2-0)
