1. D’Eriq King, QB (Houston to Miami)

Miami lost the No. 2 transfer on my list, but will pick up my No. 1 guy in D’Eriq King. He wasn’t highly spoken of out of high school as a three-star recruit from Manvel, Texas, but he has already made a huge impact at the collegiate level.

As a Houston Cougar, King originally found playing time as a wide receiver, posting solid numbers his freshman year while filling in for an injury-riddled receiver room. It wasn’t until his junior year that he’d find significant playing time at quarterback, posting almost 3,000 yards along with 36 touchdowns and six interceptions.

He would follow this season with a redshirt year and a transfer to Miami.

King will be the top dog at “The U” in 2020 and the most talked about recruit this offseason.

Will he live up to the transfer standard that last year’s quarterbacks Justin Fields and Joe Burrow set or will he flop on an offense that hasn’t shown signs of life in years? Either way, he’ll be an exciting player to watch and could rejuvenate this strong football program.
