Auburn football: Updated game-by-game predictions for 2020 season
In what many consider to be the premier rivalry in the sport, Alabama and Auburn will meet to decide who gets to go to Atlanta and play for the SEC championship out of the West division.
Last season’s game was another instant classic in a series that seems to be full of them. Gus Malzahn earned his third win over Nick Saban last season, due to more kicking blunders on the part of Alabama. Auburn has won two of the last three against the Tide and this game will have massive implications yet again.
Alabama is bringing back a wealth of talent, especially on the offensive side of the football with wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith leading the way alongside running back Najee Harris. The Crimson Tide will be just fine with Mac Jones under center, unless five-star recruit Bryce Young flashes his elite talent and takes over.
Expect a hard-fought game that will result in Alabama clinching a spot in another SEC championship.
Final Score: Auburn 28, Alabama 38 (7-2)
In what will be tough game to play after losing on the road to the Crimson Tide, Texas A&M will come to Auburn for a big SEC West clash. Auburn will still have New Year’s Six game hopes, despite the loss to the losses and will need to be ready for a talented Aggies team.
Auburn is 5-3 against the Aggies ever since their move to the SEC in 2012 and has won the last three. Texas A&M will be hoping to make the leap in three under Jimbo Fisher and they have a lot of returning talent to do so and possibly challenge in the SEC West.
Both teams will be relying on their respective quarterbacks to make the necessary leap to be SEC contenders.
This will be a close game, but I think the home-field advantage will be enough for the Tigers.
Final Score: Auburn 31, Texas A&M 24 (8-2)
