Miami football: Updated game-by-game predictions for 2020
The season opener for the Hurricanes will come against a very good and well-coached UAB squad who is hoping to challenge for the C-USA title after falling to FAU last season.
The Blazers will have what should be another top defensive unit and if they make enough strides on offense, it is not crazy to think that they could put a scare into Miami. UAB head coach Bill Clark has led the turnaround ever since the program brought back football and it is a wonder that he has not been hired for a Power Five job.
This will be the first chance to see how Miami’s offense will stack up against what should be another very good defensive for the Blazers. D’Eriq King will have a big game and the defense forces enough turnovers to get the win.
Final Score: Miami 31, UAB 23 (1-0)
Louisville will be one of the ACC’s top teams and one of the countries top offenses with stars like quarterback Micale Cunningham, running back Javian Hawkins and wide receiver Tutu Atwell.
Head coach Scott Satterfield led a great turnaround after the Bobby Petrino era ended in disaster and everyone is anxious to see what the Cardinals do for an encore this season. The big question for this team is if they can improve the defense, as it was one of the country’s worst defenses last season.
This game has the potential for a shootout and I think it could be a little like last year’s game in which Miami won 52-27. I don’t think that it will that large of a victory but Miami has the edge because of defense.
Final Score: Miami 38, Louisville 28 (2-0, 1-0 ACC)
