Everyone has waited since Matt Campbell took the job in Ames for the Iowa State Cyclones to have their break out season and 2020 could be it. Campbell has his best team since he’s been at Iowa State.

Brock Purdy is back along with Breece Hall and both make for an exciting backfield duo. The Cyclones do lose their two best wide receivers but return perhaps the best tight end in college football, Charlie Kolar.

The Bears and Cyclones played an odd game last season. The Bears jumped out to a 20-0 lead, and the Bears needed a last-second field goal to win the game 23-21. Expect more the same this year, but with the Cyclones winning.

Final Score: Baylor 24, Iowa State 27 (3-4, 2-4)

The Red Raiders are amassing quite the wide receiver room around Alan Bowman in Lubbock. They return TJ Vasher, Erik Ezukama and Dalton Rigdon. Four-star freshman Loic Fouonji will press for snaps as well.

They have a tremendous complementary running back in SaRodorick Thompson. The question this season — especially with backup quarterback Jett Duffy’s departure — is can the offensive line keep Bowman upright and healthy?

Last season’s 33-30 overtime victory was Charlie Brewer’s worst game of the season. This pick is predicated on Bowman throwing a football and not holding a clipboard at this point in the season.

Final Score: Baylor 35, Texas Tech 38 (3-5, 2-5)
