College football’s Power Five conferences can be pose a tough challenge for some teams. Which bottom feeders have a reason to be hopeful?

When programs enter a Power Five conference, things can go one of two ways. Most teams struggle for a while, but eventually have some strong seasons atop the conference. Some teams struggle for a long time and have to leave a conference that was too competitive for their level of play. And very few teams find instant success.

It’s not easy playing in a Power Five conference. It’s hard to gain access to these exclusive clubs and once you get in, you’ve got a lot to prove. That being said, teams that elect not to join one are often criticized for their schedule — just look at UCF.

The teams we’re talking about today are those that have been struggling for quite a while. I’m talking about the Rutgers of each conference. This can and will stretch all the way from a pretty evened-out Pac-12 to an SEC conference with a large talent gap.

But today we’re not talking about what these teams have done wrong. Rather, we’ll be discussing signs of hope for each team that will be listed today. No matter how bad a position each program is in, there’s always something going their way. It could be a high-rated recruit or a good coaching staff, either way, these school all have something positive.

Here is one positive sign from the worst team in each Power Five conference.
