1. The defense will still be elite

The SEC is a wild place, yes, and LSU watched 14 players get drafted last year, a number that tied the NFL record for the most players drafted from the same school in the same draft.

LSU lost a number of great defenders, from safety Grant Delpit to linebackers Patrick Queen and Jacob Phillips and defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence.

That all being said, this LSU defense has a chance to be better and stronger than they were last season.

The Tigers return stars like sophomore cornerback Derek Stingley (arguably the best defensive player currently in college football), defensive lineman Tyler Shelvin, safety JaCoby Stevens and transfer linebacker Jabril Cox Jr. The Tigers are bigger, faster and stronger across the board than they were last year, a unit that was about average in the SEC.

A better defense would help them tremendously. Don’t count LSU out yet, folks, this team is still dangerous.
