Arkansas Football: Updated game-by-game predictions for 2020
Another rebuilder, Eliah Drinkwitz takes over a team that isn’t quite in the same rough spot that Arkansas is.
Just two years ago they won eight games. There’s still quite a bit of talent here but a new quarterback and only four offensive starters is hard to fix with a brutal SEC-only schedule.
By this point, both will have improved from game one. Heading into a game against Alabama, Arkansas could possibly be looking ahead.
But knowing that means the Razorback could look at this game as somewhat of a tone setter heading into 2021. Missouri will be good, but Arkansas will see this game as an opportunity they can’t let slip by. Even though it’s on the road, this is an upset waiting to happen.
Prediction: Arkansas 34, Missouri 31 (2-7)
Unfortunately, any momentum Arkansas gained the previous week comes to a screeching halt here. Finishing the season on the same sour note it started isn’t fun, but it’s a sad reality for the Razorbacks.
It’s been said a few times, but it’s another case of being simply outclassed. Alabama is too fast, too physical and too experienced to let a game like this slip away. Alabama will be in the thick of the playoff hunt and you know Nick Saban is going to want to take a major lead early to get some younger guys more reps in preparation for the SEC title game.
Arkansas will need an offseason to recover from this beatdown.
Prediction: Alabama 59, Arkansas 13 (2-8)
