Georgia Football: 3 reasons JT Daniels will lead Bulldogs to SEC title
By John Scimeca
2. The unknown
It’s always the unknown that scares us the most, right? Well, for Bulldogs fans, this somewhat mysterious nature of J.T. Daniels could be a benefit.
Opposing coaches will have very little material with which to scout Daniels. Apart from his freshman season in 2018, he has played one half of football and thrown 34 passes (while completing 25). In that Trojans contest against Fresno State, Daniels went down with an ACL injury that ruled him out for the rest of 2019.
With Daniels still seeking to fully recover from his injury and with new spring football action for anyone during the COVID-19 pandemic, his unknown moxie could be on display against Arkansas in Week 1 of the SEC schedule. Daniels would get a much-needed tune-up against the Razorbacks in the first week, with Georgia set to host Auburn seven days later.
Of course, a lot will be unknown for any college football program this season in terms of lack of repetitions for younger players, chemistry that’s not fully formed yet, and roles that haven’t been quite determined as the season starts. As a potential Bulldogs starting quarterback, Daniels may thrive in this uncertainty.
