Full schedule

West Virginia fans shouldn’t be expecting a College Football Playoff berth in 2020 unless something extremely unusual happens. Which, actually, is the case thanks to the novel coronavirus pandemic. But literally everything from here until the end of the season needs to go their way.

Jarret Doege needs to be Diet Will Grier. Sam James must demand double teams, and when he does, Ali Jennings and Winston Wright need to make plays (among others). The Stills brothers need to live in opponent’s backfields. The running game must be better than last year. Without these happening, it’ll be another long season in Morgantown.

Let’s run through the full slate of games (and predictions) one more time.

  • Sep. 12: West Virginia 33 (1-0), Eastern Kentucky 16
  • Sep. 26: Oklahoma State 33, West Virginia 23 (1-1)
  • Oct. 3: West Virginia 27 (2-1), Baylor 14
  • Oct. 17: West Virginia 33 (3-1), Kansas 20
  • Oct. 24: West Virginia 37 (4-1), Texas Tech 33
  • Oct. 31: West Virginia 21 (5-1), Kansas State 17
  • Nov. 7: Texas 30, West Virginia 24 (5-2)
  • Nov. 14: West Virginia 19 (6-2), TCU 14
  • Nov. 28: Oklahoma 49, West Virginia 28 (6-3)
  • Dec. 5: Iowa State 27, West Virginia 23 (6-4)

A 6-4 record isn’t exactly what WVU fans are hoping for, especially following last year’s 5-7 finish. But taking everything into account, a 6-4 record is decent for the mountain in front of them. But as Neal Brown’s been saying since he took over: #TrustTheClimb.
