3. New pieces, same result

Following the mold of Darnell Woffolk and Connor Slomka, fullback Sandon McCoy bullied his way to three touchdowns to lead the Black Knights. The senior might be the most athletic fullback Army has ever had. Not only can McCoy bull his way to first downs in short-yardage situations, but McCoy can also run past people as well.

He is not alone in the backfield. Army played all three of their fullbacks in this one. Both Jackobi Buchanan and Cade Bernard played in this game.

New quarterback Christian Anderson takes over for Kelvin Hopkins this season. He had a solid game rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown. Anderson’s strength at quarterback seems to be is his ability to know when to pitch. He did an outstanding job of pitching at the right time on the option.

All in all, there were new faces, but the same result at West Point. The running game was dominant, and the new rushers were the culprits. One thing the Black Knights wanted to do coming in was to rush for over 300 yards and dominate time of possession.
